Adding a vibrant decorative splashback behind your hob or sink, using tiles or a sheet of glass, is a great way to inject a pop of colour. To establish a cohesive look, choose a colour that ties in with your cabinets; alternatively, make a bold statement with a contrasting hue. You can confine the splashback to behind your hob or run it along the whole length of the worktop.
Think outside the box
If you want to introduce colour but are apprehensive about making a permanent change, soft furnishings and accessories offer a wonderful opportunity to experiment — blinds, curtains, cushions or upholstered bar stools. If you are happy with the effect, you can further enhance your kitchen with colourful accessories, a new splashback or an accent wall.
