The Client’s Brief
For this project, the client wanted a kitchen with a bold, contemporary feel, something sleek and minimal, yet still warm and inviting within a bright, open-plan setting. With natural light pouring into the space and the kitchen flowing directly into the dining area, the design needed to feel seamless and well-balanced, using darker tones to complement the airy room rather than overpower it. A statement island, integrated appliances, and clean modern lines were key to creating a space for everyday living and entertaining.
The Project
This striking modern kitchen makes an immediate impact with its deep, handleless cabinetry and clean architectural layout. The dark finish creates a sophisticated backdrop, while the streamlined design keeps the space feeling calm, uncluttered, and effortlessly contemporary. To soften the palette and introduce a sense of lightness, the cabinetry is paired with crisp, marble-effect surfaces featuring subtle veining. Used across the perimeter and continued up the walls as a full-height splashback, these bright finishes bring balance and elegance, reflecting natural light and enhancing the kitchen’s open, airy feel.
A large central island sits at the heart of the space, combining generous preparation room with a relaxed seating area for casual dining. The integrated hob keeps the island practical for cooking and entertaining, while pendant lighting overhead adds warmth and a subtle decorative feature.
Integrated appliances were incorporated seamlessly throughout, including a sleek double AEG oven stack and a built-in wine cooler, ensuring modern convenience without interrupting the clean lines of the design. The result is a beautifully cohesive kitchen that feels both bold and timeless, perfectly suited to contemporary family life.
